QuickBooks Online
cleanup & catch-up
Get overdue books organized and work through the discrepancies that make your reports hard to trust.
Based in Ridgefield, Washington. Serving Vancouver, Southwest Washington, and businesses remotely nationwide.
When cleanup helps
If transactions have piled up, bank and credit card accounts haven’t been reconciled, or balances don’t match your statements, cleanup gives those issues dedicated attention.
Catch-up brings unfinished periods up to date. Cleanup investigates and corrects existing bookkeeping issues. Your project may need both.
What’s included
After reviewing your QuickBooks file, I propose a scope based on the work needed. That may include:
- Organizing and categorizing past transactions.
- Investigating duplicate entries and discrepancies.
- Reconciling bank and credit card accounts to statements.
- Preparing a profit and loss statement and balance sheet for the agreed period.
- Reviewing the results and practical steps to stay current.
How it works
1. Talk through the backlog.
Discuss the periods that need attention, your concerns, and any deadlines.
2. Agree on the work and price.
I review the available records and explain the proposed scope, information needed, pricing, and timeline before work begins.
3. Work through the details together.
Provide the requested statements and supporting records, resolve questions, and review the resulting reports.
A few useful answers
What will it cost?
Pricing depends on the periods involved, transaction volume, account complexity, and the condition of your records. There’s no one-size-fits-all cleanup fee.
What do I need to provide?
Typically, QuickBooks Online access, bank and credit card statements, and supporting records for transactions that need clarification. I’ll explain what your project requires.
Can you keep my books current afterward?
Yes. Cleanup can be a one-time project or lead into monthly bookkeeping, depending on your needs.
Does this include income tax preparation?
I don’t prepare income tax returns. Cleanup organizes your bookkeeping and financial reports for your tax preparer. I also provide Washington excise tax filing, including B&O and sales tax, and can include that support in your bookkeeping plan.
