Monthly bookkeeping.
A clearer view of your business.
Keep your QuickBooks Online records organized, your accounts reconciled, and your financial reports ready for a useful conversation.
Based in Ridgefield, Washington. Serving Vancouver, Southwest Washington, and businesses remotely nationwide.
When monthly support helps
Your books shouldn’t become a project you keep putting off. Monthly bookkeeping gives the recurring work a regular place in your business routine.
It’s a practical fit when you’re spending too much time categorizing transactions, falling behind on reconciliations, or making decisions without a clear picture of your income and expenses.
What’s included
I review your business and agree on a scope with you before work begins. Monthly bookkeeping can include:
- Categorizing bank and credit card transactions in QuickBooks Online.
- Reconciling bank and credit card accounts to your statements.
- Investigating discrepancies and following up on missing information.
- Preparing a profit and loss statement and balance sheet.
- Talking through what your bookkeeping reports show.
- Keeping records organized for your tax preparer.
I also provide Washington excise tax filing, including B&O and sales tax, and can include that support in your bookkeeping plan. Payroll coordination can be included in the agreed scope as well.
How it works
1. Start with your business.
Discuss your accounts, transaction volume, current bookkeeping routine, and the support you need.
2. Agree on a clear scope and price.
I review your QuickBooks file, identify any catch-up work, and propose the ongoing services and pricing.
3. Build a monthly routine.
Share statements and supporting records, answer questions about transactions, and review the reports with me. You’ll know what information is needed to keep the work moving.
Work directly with me
I’m Mark Schmitt, owner of Better Days Bookkeeping and a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. When we work together, you work directly with me—the person reviewing your records and preparing your reports.
I bring more than 30 years of business experience and over a decade operating a vending business to my work. My approach is practical: organized records and straightforward conversations about what the numbers mean.
A few useful answers
How much does monthly bookkeeping cost?
Pricing depends on transaction volume, the number and complexity of accounts, the condition of your records, and the services you need. I outline the proposed scope and price before work begins.
What if my books are already behind?
We can start with QuickBooks cleanup and catch-up, then move into monthly bookkeeping. The initial review helps identify what needs attention first.
What do I still need to do?
Provide access to QuickBooks Online and the agreed statements and supporting records, and answer questions about business transactions. I’ll explain what’s needed and help establish a practical routine.
Do I need to be near Ridgefield or Vancouver?
No. I work remotely with businesses nationwide. Washington excise tax filing support is available for Washington businesses.
Do you prepare income tax returns?
I don’t prepare income tax returns. I organize your bookkeeping and financial reports for your tax preparer. I also provide Washington excise tax filing, including B&O and sales tax.
